Hand made heirloom Oak box

There are two heirloom Oak boxes available for purchase. These have been especially commissioned and made entirely from solid Oak using hand tool joinery. They're built to last as heirloom pieces.

A phone box to unwind and for family time (box 1)

Made entirely with hand tools over the course of several weeks by Alex Ellis, this box will keep your notifications and distractions to a minimum.

The box is dovetailed from prime-grade European Red Oak with a mitred lid and base set in a groove made from reclaimed White Oak from Whiskey barrels.

The premium solid brass hinges have been polished and recessed into the box to allow it to remain open without support.

The finish is a mixture of natural Osmo oil for the outside of the box, with shellac used on the inside.

Accidents do happen, so natural hide glue has been used for the joints. Hide glue can be separated with steam and hot water, so that the box can be repaired if required in the future.

A stash box for tobacco and other herbs (box 2)

This box was made over the course of several weeks by Alex Ellis using hand tools. You can use this box to store your tobacco or other herbs.

The box is made from joinery-grade Red Oak, with hand cut dovetails and a sawn-off lid.

The top and base are made from reclaimed White Oak from whiskey barrels which exude a rich aroma from its past life. On the underside of the lid you'll see round holes from the dowels that used to keep the barrel together.

The premium solid brass hinges have been polished and recessed into the box at an angle that allows the box to open fully.

Finished with a coat of food-safe shellac on the inside and outside.
